EXAM SYSTEM

The academic session is broadly divided into two terms

  • Term I June - October PA 1, PA 2 and Term 1
  • Term II November - March PA 3, PA 4, and Term 2

SCHOOL RULES

  •   Every student should carry his / her handbook and identity card to school each day.
      A student should affix his/her photograph and write the required information, duly signed by parents in the space provided in the handbook.

  •   Students should come to school on time.
      Non-bus commuters must arrive 5 minutes before the first period.
      Students are not supposed to miss any classes / games.

  •   Uniform must always be neat and clean. Id - card must be worn at all times.
      Uniform is compulsory during school hours and for all school functions including all such instances where students represent the school outside.
      Girls are not allowed to apply mehandi, colouring of hair or use nail polish on school days.
      Girls should not wear any trinkets, beads, chains, colour threads, sets of bangles or rings on fingers. Girls may wear small earrings and a pair of bangles. Gold jewellery is not permitted, second earring / piercing is not allowed.
      Boys are not allowed to wear ear-rings, chains, colour threads or bracelets and smart watches.
      Both students and staff are not allowed to carry mobile phones inside the classroom.
      Long hair must be double plaited, neatly folded and tied with black ribbons. In case of short hair, it should be double plaited. This rule must be followed by all girl students in the school campus while representing school.
      Colouring or bleaching of hair / fancy hair cut is not permitted for boys and girls.
      Boys should have their hair cut an inch above their ears, no fashionable or fancy hair cut is permitted.
      Students of Class IV onwards are permitted to wear watches. Avoid fancy watches.

  •   Children should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed.
      All books and notebooks should be neatly maintained throughout the year. Notebooks and books should be covered and labelled.
      Students must carry a napkin and spoon to school daily and use them during lunch break.
      Students are advised to keep the campus and their class rooms as clean as possible. They should throw the trash into the dustbins only.
      Care must be taken in order to maintain clean, green surroundings.
      School premises should not be littered with bits of papers or chocolate wrappers.
      The school is committed to protect the environment and expects its students to be environment-friendly in all their actions. The use of polythene bags is therefore strictly prohibited in the school and students should consciously avoid their use for any purpose.
      Birthday party and cutting of cakes inside the classroom will not be permitted.

  •   Students must take care of the school property and no student should scratch or spoil the school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls and in anyway damage things belong to the school.
      Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher.
      Damaging or disfiguring any school property may result in suspension expulsion from school in addition to levy of heavy fine.

  •   Students must be regular to school.
      The morning assembly is compulsory for all students.
      All students must be present in school on all working days.
      No student can leave the school premises without the permission of the principal.
      Students who come to school with their Parents should never leave before the Parents arrives. In case of the delay, they should report to the school office.

  •   In all cases of absence, parents should make an entry in the Leave Record Section of the student's handbook, stating the reason for absence.
      Prior sanction should be sought from the Principal through a written application for any absence exceeding 2 days.
      If a student leaves school after weekly test / assessment due to one or the other reason, he/she shall be marked absent for that day.
      Long period of absence on medical grounds should be supported by a medical certificate.

  •   A student who has been absent on the previous day will not be allowed to attend class unless his / her parent has entered an explanation stating the reasons for the absence, in the "Leave Record" section of the handbook / diary for each day (valid for 2 days) the student has been absent from school. In case a child reports to school without an explanation in the handbook / diary, the parents will be called to school to give explanation in person.
      In case of absence for more than two days on medical grounds, Medical Certificate and Prescription (Photocopies) should be attached along with application.
      There is no provision for half day leave, therefore students who are not well should not be sent to school even on the days of assessments. The child will be marked absent if she / he were to be taken home by parents / guardians / authorized persons during school hours, even if it were to be an assessment day.
      A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a doctor's fitness certificate permitting her / him to attend school. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school.
      Parents will be promptly informed in the event of serious illness or emergencies and may be requested to come to school to take their ward home, if necessary.
      Repeated absence without notice or explained absence without written application for more than six consecutive days renders the student liable to have her / his name struck off the rolls.
      All students are expected to attend school on the first day following the vacations. Absence for more than 10% of total number of working days should be avoided. On medical grounds too, a student cannot remain absent for more than 20% of total working days.

  •   Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school premises without a plausible explanation.
      Arriving late for school is not acceptable. Students found to have come late for more than one day in a term/ semester will not be allowed to attend classes on second of such occurrence and disciplinary action shall be taken against them.
      Late comers should not go to the class directly. They should get the late comer's slip signed by the P.E.T. teacher.
      Late comers should report to the class teachers on arrival.

  •   Students should be polite and courteous at all times.
      Students should greet the teachers whenever and wherever they meet them.
      Running, playing and shouting inside the class room / in the corridor are forbidden.
      Students are not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets / video games to school.
      Children should reach the assembly ground promptly, silently and in a line after the bell rings.
      Changing of classroom between periods should be done silently and in an orderly manner.
      Those who come without an escort should not loiter about on the way and be prompt in returning home.
      Students are advised not to buy anything, especially eatables from street vendors.
      They should not accept undue favour from any stranger either in the form of a gift or a ride on their vehicle.
      Lending or borrowing of money and other articles is not permitted.
      No books, other than text books and library books, magazines or money is to be brought to school without the Principal's permission.
      It is expected that the juniors should show all respect to their seniors.
      Parents and guardians must not visit their wards or teachers in the classrooms without the Principal's permission. As far as possible, once the child comes to school he / she should not be asked to come home on half - day leave.
      Parents and guardians of all students should visit the school on the scheduled day to note the progress of their wards. This is compulsory.
      Students are not permitted to bring mobile phones to school. Strict action will be taken against any child found in possession of a mobile phone.
      The school reserves the right to dismiss a student whose behaviour is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.

  •   They should stand when any teacher or visitor comes to talk to them.
      They should be truthful whatever the cost is.
      They should respect the beauty of the classroom and of the school premises and report any damage they may observe.
      They should never hesitate to say 'No' when asked or tempted to do anything, which they know to be wrong.
      They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
      They should report to school 10 minutes before the school begins.
      They should take care of their belongings. School will not take responsibility for anything lost.
      Bullying and the use of foul language are punishable offences, whether in or out of school. Students found using the same will be expelled.
      "Bullying is strictly prohibited inside the school premises and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished".
      Students are not allowed to bring any weapons or sharp instruments such as blades, knives, paper-scalpels, scissors etc. to school.
      Students are prohibited from bringing any publication, reference books, CD or other storage devices like floppies, pen drives or l-pads, not relevant to academic pursuits. Violation may result in suspension.
      It is mandatory for all students, unless instructed to be present for festivals and functions celebrated in an outside school.
      Students should be proud of their school and sing the National Anthem with pride.
